SBRL Sherwood Anderson Exhibit
In conjunction with the Sherwood Anderson Festival, the Smyth-Bland Regional
Library will house a unique and very special Sherwood Anderson exhibit from
September through November, 2008. The
exhibition will include Anderson’s first edition
books, manuscript pages, an original diary, letters to Eleanor Copenhaver Anderson, original Anderson art, periodicals,
newspapers, oral history collections, photos, the typewriter that
Anderson used and which he
took on the S.S. Santa Lucia to Chile where he died in
1941, and many other artifacts.

The Staley-Collins Historic House Museum, features a Period Clothing
Exhibit along with period furniture. This lovely home with beautifully detailed
architectural features houses many wonderful artifacts including antique and
period furniture, art, clothing and accessories, toys and games, jewelry, and
other items from area families, including the Scherers, Copenhavers, and
Andersons. The Staley-Collins House is open during the Sherwood Anderson
Festival the second and fourth weekends of each month from 10a.m. - 4p.m. $3.00
per adult, $1.00 per child. Special group tours are available by appoint only:
